CSR stands for Certificate Signing Request. A CSR contains information such your organization's name, your domain name, and your location, and is filled out and submitted to the relevant certificate authority. The information in a CSR is used to verify and create your SSL certificate.

Typically, your hosting provider will be able to generate a CSR on your behalf for the domain you wish to secure with an SSL certificate.

If however you wish to generate the CSR yourself, kindly select from the certificate authorities below for detailed instructions on how to generate a CSR code for your specific web server type:

If you are activating a Multi-domain certificate, generate your CSR code for your primary common name only. Additional names can be specified on the enrollment form.

If you are activating a Wildcard certificate, the common name for your CSR code should be in the format: *.yourdomain.com
